12 hours of thethering, and there's still 62% of battery left
To test how well my iPad with MyWi 4.0 can be a WiFi hotspot (thethering the 3G signal), I did an experiment today. I first had my iPad charge fully, then I turned on the MyWi Thethering. Then I used my iPod Touch to access the Wifi provided by iPad to do basic stuff on and off, like downloading and installing apps, stream music thru Zumocast, update To Do list, check email and so on. Notice that I set the WiFi signal to the lowest (30%).
After 12 hours, I check the battery life of my iPad. 62% of battery still available. Not bad. Now I can count on using it on the road all the time.
One more thing: ever since I downgraded the OS from iOS 4.x to iOS 3.1.2 on my iPod Touch second generation, life is never better. The response of the device is snappy, and everything just work great. Sure some apps don't run, but not anything I rely on. In fact I am so happy that I didn't waste on the 3rd gen or the latest 4th gen.
