Again, the Firewire Solo thing

Well, after I got the Firewire Solo working again with Windows XP, I switched back to Mac OSX, and indeed it asked for doing a firmware upgrade up somehow didn't get thru. Then I rebooted (by menu proper, instead of hardware force reboot) back to Windows XP, and the Firewire Solo still works with Windows. Fine. As long as it works with Windows, I am not wasting time messing with it on OSX anymore.

Such a mess.

Firewire Solo firmware OS dependent!

Yeah, based on my observation, when I switch my FireWire Solo between Mac and Windows, it does require firmware auto upgrade every single time. That's ... damn anonying.

I was happied too soon about the clock thing

It turns out that the Mac OSX 10.4.6 modified the clock setting. That's why it looked OK. When I switched back to the Windows side it was still all messed up. :-<

Cannot play DVD on my desktop Mac 10.4.6

I cannot play DVD on my Mac. It says some thing like cannot find the display device. Sigh.

Finally even PS2 Keyboard is working with OSX 10.4.6

Cool, I used the tip I documented in deecaywonder and now I can use my PS2 keyboard.

So I am going to install other apps on OSX and start to use it as a primary OS.

Sweet. Having iTune running in the background playing Thom Yorke's Cymbal Rush.

I noticed that Firefox 1.5.0.1 is running awfully slow (which gave me the impression that the OSX 10.4.6 was slow unless I tried Safari and found that the performance was not that bad.

Finally installed 10.4.6, but ....

- System clock is now displaying properly. Now I don't have to reset the clock everytime I switch between Windows and OSX.

- Don't even think of connecting USB device while OSX is running, or the system will hang up. It actually happened to me more than several time :-< In fact, even with Wacom tablet connected before boot up, my OSX still hanged after I moved the Wacom pen on the top of the tablet. Sigh, no Graphite 4 connected to OSX.

- Network works instantly. I could surf the web right away.

- My PS2 keyboard doesn't work. Need to search for solution.

- The graphic hack worked before still works. here the content of the com.apple.Boot file (make sure you use TextWrangle to edit it because of the system right):

MacOSX_10.4.6_GoatsecxDVD not work ... for me

I got MacOSX_10.4.6_GoatsecxDVD.rar and tried on my home desktop PC. Installation went alright but at the end the bootup simply failed. Really don't know why. Maybe it's because I installed it on the top of 10.4.4 ? And then I tried installing in VMWare. Still failed.

Is it really time for MacMini Intel edition?

BIg Mac debate: Parallel or Boot Camp

Well, here's the info, you decide.
