Very slow Mac (on my PC)

I usually don't find my Mac (the MacOSX 10.4.4 on PC ) ultra slow, but today when I try to edit my blog while I open the Portfolio catalog at the back and at the same time listening to radio at Pandora, the system became very slugglish. I wonder which part of my above three activities brought the machine down to its knees.
